Re: Taxe d'habitation ... again.

Hollande wanted to replace TdH by a progressive tax based on income as a way of softening the impact of TdH on the poorest.

Re: Good (no, reasonable) beef - where?

The standard fridge beef (from casserole to fillet) in my local Cora is usually labelled vache laitière and lot number for tracebility. They do also usually have some Charolais or Limousin, but often only on the meat counter rather than the fridge. https://www.la-viande.fr/securite-sanitaire/etiquet...

Re: Taxe d'habitation ... again.

Perhaps you can answer how it will be paid for? Or is it just a brief honeymoon? Removal of TdH, removal of ISF, lowering of income tax, lowering CSG for many French pensioners, end-of-year bonuses, suspension of environmental fuel increases, the news this coming week of additional health service fu...

Re: Taxe d'habitation ... again.

I'm well aware of that. I know secondary residences will continue to pay TdH. It was how the 80% was calculated. Did it mean 80% of all residences would no longer pay TdH or 80% of primary residences? I've now seen the latest estimate is just under 77% of primary residences. That figure includes tho...

Re: Taxe d'habitation ... again.

But reduced 1€ so only 138€ for the TV next year. But it will still be on a TdH bill. They estimated 80% would no longer pay TdH but I'm not sure if that was only for primary residences or whether it included secondary residences in the calculation.

Re: Social charges on investment income - court ruling

The last questions I can think of to help understand why you were charged: Did you register your S1 with CPAM in 2017 or 2018? I assume the tax office must have some way of checking individuals have a valid S1 rather than just relying on a ticked box? And I've no idea how they handle S1 registered p...

Re: Electronic repair

I’d love to go to MP3, but can’t work out how to turn my CDs into MP3 files. I look online and the instructions are gibberish....anyone who can explain in simple english (or even french) would be virtually hugged. I used the free Windows program Exact Audio Copy http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/ to ...

Re: Social charges on investment income - court ruling

Those boxes were new this year, so if you just copied what you did the year before you could have missed them. There was also a difference in the way investment income was taxed. You could either opt to have it taxed at your usual, often zero, rate (so best for those with lower incomes) or at a flat...
