Re: Travel possibility
I really do despair of some of the comments that arise. What the f©ck have jeans got to do with asking a simple question about travel. Some people really need to live in the real world. I know what you mean. Some just can't resist trying the play the smartarse But they forget the smart bit. I find ...

Re: Travel possibility
I wouldn’t think an iPad you fancy would be considered essential, you might be able to wing the jeans though, especially if you go wearing an old ripped pair but then the question would be don’t they sell jeans nearer than Montpellier Aha! You make the same point as Linda - it is all subjective! Yes,...

Though will not need it now, a client of hers is going home to Monaco on the same day, so he will alter the flight plan to drop into Carcassonne en route..

Re: Travel possibility
Linda, you are really saying it ius all subjective. And much as I always thought. This leads on to another question - who is the arbitrator in these things? is it the Gendarme who stops one? I guess it must be as the detail is not defined anywhere. In my description, I could say i am visiting a vuln...

Re: Travel possibility
Again, wind it in. This time I do not ask, but demand.
You do not know what sort of person I am and have no right to publicly indicate what you think that might be.

Re: Travel possibility
In actual fact my dear chap, or chapess - whichever you are, it is serious so wind it back in please. I have a friend who pretty well meets the description except her arthritis is in her neck and hands as well/she is beside herself because she cannot see her grandchildren with whom she is very close...

Re: Travel possibility
Is there a maximum distance you can travel 'to check on a vulnerable person'? And, what is the definition of 'vulnerable'? Take a mythical Gran - she is 75, still enjoys a drink or two, smokes like a trooper, like a rabbit sexually when she gets a chance, on her own but with arthritis in a knee mean...

Re: A few odd thoughts
Like most days I clicked on this forum, looked at the active topics and almost closed it. By the time I’d disregarded the long running threads and the stuff about the UK there was very little left. When I joined I thought I might make maybe one contribution a week but even that is difficult. Which ...

Foreign aid
There is today much wailing and knashing of teeth that the UK will [maybe] reduce its foreign aid spending next year to 0.5% down from 0.7% of GNI. A quick google shows that at 0.7%, the UK is a high provider of foreign aid. (France donates 0.44% of its GNI) My question is, and no doubt will further...
