Re: Bird's Custard Powder

I don't think there's an equivalent to custard powder.
You can buy a carton of crème anglaise, supposed to be equivalent to custard but, for me, it's not the same - too runny.
Make your own custard from scratch? Vanilla flavoured butter cream instead?

Re: Makes You Think......

Terrible figures. And if "herd immunity" had been the chosen solution? ...If no action had been taken against the epidemic, there would have been about 510,000 deaths in the UK [out of a population of 66 million people, about as many in Italy or France] and 2.2 million in the United States [out of 3...

It sounds like they've revived the "Schmilblick", cher à Guy Lux, only you didn't get a visual clue. People mostly remember the parody by Coluche.

Re: A vaccination for Covid 19 should it be free

All of a sudden it looks like a vaccine could be available. Not until next spring at the earliest according to Olivier Bogillot, CEO of Sanofi France. He was on TV last night trying to calm the reactions to Mr Hudson's announcement that the US would have priority access to the vaccine. According to...

Re: Carte gris and change of address

I found this:
Comment faire modifier la carte grise si ma ville ou ma rue change de nom ?
https://www.demarches.interieur.gouv.fr ... change-nom

They say the change is free of charge in this case.

Re: Hope you like the colour of your walls

They are "just" extending the current state of emergency (état d'urgence). There is no change (yet) to the plans for déconfinement from what I've read: Le gouvernement présente ce samedi en Conseil des ministres la prolongation de l’état d’urgence sanitaire contre le Covid-19. Adopté en mars par le ...

The government took the map showing where the virus was most active (that explains the Lot) and superimposed it on the map showing high ICU occupation. This article in the Huffington Post gives all three maps. https://www.huffingto...

Re: I'm 73 today!!!

Bonne annif, Dilly, I hope no-one in your family flouted the non-essential travel rules. I got one real card and several virtual ones and quite a few messages and phone calls and we're having a skype apéro later, that's all. :innocent: Unfortunately, there won't be any visits for a while yet.
